Almost Missed: part 4 - rookie…

by the time tickets went on sale, BTS had added a third melbourne show.

the original two were on friday and saturday. the new one was on wednesday, added because demand was so high. i figured friday and saturday would be difficult, but maybe wednesday would give me a better chance.

and if i was going to do this, why not try to get as close as possible to the stage?

a perfectly reasonable thought for someone who had never done this before.

at 9:00 am, i had two computers ready, with ticketmaster and ticket merchant open. i was excited. i was nervous. and i was trying to look like a person who knew what she was doing.

then ticketmaster put me in a queue.

16,567 people ahead of me.

i was like, “oh my god?!”

panic mode started kicking in. i think it was worse than not being able to answer a question in an exam.

i stared at the number in disbelief and started laughing at the same time. i was like, there is no chance i’m getting the tickets i want.

i couldn’t get the seats i wanted through ticketmaster, so i turned to ticket merchant. somehow, through all the excitement and stress, i bought three tickets.

three tickets to see a group i’d almost scrolled past on netflix.

once i got the tickets, the excitement really began. i couldn’t wait to see them live.

i told my friends and my sister that i had tickets to a BTS concert. their reactions were pretty much what i expected… laughing, amused by my behaviour, surprised.

i think they were all thinking, “what is wrong with her?”

my reply, with a straight face:

“i call it puberty number four.”

i don’t think there is such a thing as puberty number four, but anyways…

they were surprised because they all knew i had never, ever listened to k-pop or watched k-drama. now, suddenly, i was going to a BTS concert.

while waiting for the concert in february 2027, i thought i should learn more about them. so i decided to watch run BTS from the very first episode to the last, including the specials.

and i watched them all.

yes. all of them.

they made me laugh and laugh.

but my favourite one…

that’s for the next part.

almost missed: part 5 — coming monday, 12 october.
